askKynos is pet care that starts with the individual animal — not simply who is nearby. A pet parent can carry forward the details that make their pet their pet: temperament, routines, medications, fears, preferences, health context, and the small things a family learns over years.

What a family knows is meant to persist. Matching can use it. A caregiver can benefit from it. Vet Assistant can reason from the pet’s profile. And each useful experience can add context instead of disappearing when a booking ends. The product is designed so the next stay begins with more than the last one did.

askKynos gives that knowledge a place to live before a booking is needed — and a way to remain useful afterward.

Why we built askKynos

The product came from living the problem.

Before askKynos became software, the founders experienced pet care from both sides. The video tells the human story behind the company: the dog, the handoff, the missing context, and why this became a company instead of a complaint.

That story belongs on the Artemis site because it explains the reason the company exists — while the detailed product journey remains on askKynos.ai.

In ancient tradition, Artemis was inseparable from her dogs — a symbol of protection, instinct, and the bond between people and animals.

Kynos (κυνός) is ancient Greek for “of the dog” or “canine.” Inside askKynos, Kynos is the companion who helps keep the pet’s story with them.

The company and product names were chosen separately. Only later did we discover that their mythology had already belonged together for thousands of years.

How Artemis was built

AI-first was the operating model,
not a feature list.

Artemis did not begin as a conventional pet company that later added AI. AI shaped how the company was built from the beginning — in engineering, operations, research, communications, support, and the product itself. The goal is leverage: let a small founding team use intelligence to remove routine work while people remain responsible for architecture, judgment, trust, and care.

The same philosophy appears in askKynos. AI is not confined to a chatbot. Smart Match, the pet’s accumulating behavioral memory, Vet Assistant, and Policy Assistant are different intelligence surfaces built around context. The purpose is not to look more technical. It is to make what the system knows about the animal useful at the moment a decision has to be made.

That does not mean removing people from the work that requires judgment, trust, or care. It means asking where AI can eliminate routine effort so a small team can stay focused on the decisions that matter.

Understanding is architectural, not cosmetic. Matching, memory, health guidance, and support are designed as intelligence surfaces working together.

A pet profile should not be a form that is completed once and forgotten. Artemis is building a layer that persists: useful details stay with the animal, new experiences add context, and nobody has to reconstruct the same story every time care changes hands.

Two founders became active pet sitters before askKynos was built. The first product came from living the handoff from both sides — not from studying it at a distance.
